Frequently Asked Questions

What certification standard covers safety footwear in the UAE?
Safety footwear in the UAE must meet EN ISO 20345 as a minimum standard, with S3 rating required on most oilfield, construction, and marine sites. CICPA and ADNOC HSE specify EN ISO 20345 S3 for contractor personnel on regulated sites. CE marking is required for all PPE distributed within GCC markets that reference EU standards.
What is the difference between S1, S3, and S5 rated safety boots?
Under EN ISO 20345, S1 requires a protective toe cap and anti-static properties. S3 adds water resistance and an anti-penetration midsole, making it the standard for oilfield and construction environments. S5 adds additional water resistance and is specified for wet and outdoor environments. Most UAE and UK site safety rules require S3 as a minimum.
Are Rigman safety boots approved for oilfield and offshore use?
